Child Support

Clinton is cracking down on "deadbeat dads," usually a state responsibility. How, exactly, is he doing this? By tying it to welfare reform. If a pre-determined formula shows that individual states (and Wash. is one of the worst) are not collecting enough child support money, the welfare block grants are cut as punishment/inducement--potentially to zero. In other words, our caring friend Bill has rigged it so that if men don't or can't pay, the state withholds more money from all women and kids. With a strong men's rights lobby in Olympia, the state trend in recent years has been away from aggressive collection.
