Begging for Votes: ETS! Runs Down The Sep. 16 Primary!
It's all becoming a blur. The blizzard of names, yard signs, and rhetoric
is melting into one elaborate promise to create a visionary city of the
future with unlimited opportunity to bring everyone to the table to forge
win-win solutions where we'll all enjoy clean, safe potholes filled with
our neighborhoods' children.
This mayoral and city council campaign has been long on symbols and short
on specifics. All this begging for votes begs the questions: who are these
people, what are they really saying, and what would they actually do?
What follows is an effort to sort it all out from the ETS! perspective.
All seats with more than two candidates send the top two votegetters on to
November (for non-party-affiliated positions) or the top person in each
party (for party battles). The usual caveat applies: think for yourself.
Be as skeptical of this as you would be any other media, campaign
material, or gossip source.
