A Quick Letter From The Editors
by Geov Parrish & Maria Tomchick, Co-Editors
Dear Electronic Fan of Eat the State!,
ETS! started in 1996 as a print publication, distributed free in the Seattle
(USA) area each week. Once a year, we've sent out a fund appeal insert with
the paper, but we've never sent an equivalent to our e-mail and Web readers
because, well, y'all don't cost printing and postage (our two biggest
expenses). But now, we need your help.
We rely primarily on donations, large and small, to keep ETS! going. It's
always been financially precarious. But in the last two months, for some
reason, the money has almost completely dried up. The result is that we're
just about broke. And if the print ETS! cuts back or disappears, chances are
pretty good we'll do the same thing with the electronic version.
It's always astonished us that ETS! has such an extensive readership not just
on the Net, but so far beyond Seattle. With so many choices of information
and entertainment out here, to wade through all our crap each week is quite
flattering. If you value what we do, please consider helping us out with a
donation, large or small. That's the pitch. We'd really like to keep going.
Thanks for whatever help you can give.
