They're Indestructable!

A few years ago I was at a libertarian conference in Silicon Valley. One of the presentations was by these two guys who did computer population modeling.

One example they gave was an environment populated by two life forms. One had a limited life span, and the other didn't.

Well, duh, guess what, the perpetual life span "organism" eventually drove the limited life span organism extinct. So I raised the question of the implications of Corporations versus the rest of us, and they DIDN'T GET IT!

How is it possible for presumably intelligent people running a sophisticated computer model to not understand the problems associated with "perpetual life" beings, a.k.a. corporations?

The Evil Ashcroft

ETS!,

Hey, I'm a 15-year-old kid from Columbus OH; I ran across your site one time and have been following it for a while, it kicks ass. I really appreciate having a good source for news and opinions other than those of the conservative Dispatch (my town's paper). I was reading your article on Ashcroft and thought I'd point out something I read in today's (01-22-02) Dispatch. In an article about abortion they mentioned that Ashcroft is not only opposed to abortion, even in rape and incest, but also opposes most forms of contraception. Just thought I'd point out how truly backward this ass hole is.

Eat the Grass!

ETS!,

Hi! Oh, hi to the CIA and FBI, too. I keep telling them to get real jobs, like growing gardens and feeding the people and curing cancer. Oh, by the way, why did the US government ban the bitter almond tree in the 1950s, and what is the sweet almond?

Oh, my favorite song by the Ramones: "Beat on the Kid." [I think she means "Beat on the Brat"--MT] Those people with those kids. I wish they would go out in the pesticide lawns and eat the grass and do us all a favor. Their parents are so stupid they fuck like rabbits and can't seem to stop or have sense to use birth control. What a bunch of dumb fucks. Would someone poke them with drugs or something and stop them already. The middle class are the worst, because they spend so much money on those spoiled brats--they are brats, brats, brats, brats, brats, and we are supposed to treat them as special. I'm special--and I'm an adult, and I refuse to treat their kids special. Our world needs less of those dumb shits.

Oh, well. Don't tell neighborhood watch--I mean the witch hunters--about me. They are so afraid of terrorists! And the media is pumping them with dis-information as usual--to be afraid of their neighbors--that's the same thing Hitler did. Doesn't anyone know their history?

What a bunch of dumb fucks! Please would someone help me get to Italy or Europe somewhere where there's some intelligence! Please--before they send me to a nuthouse, and there are even stupider people there, if that is possible. The psychiatrists are some of the dumbest, but they are also evil and greedy and lazy--so they are worse than the just normal stupid people.

They're Still Bigots

ETS!,

Yes, I like your stuff, but you do discredit yourselves when you get the Bob Jones interracial dating ban Wrong. They did lift that to their credit. The quote form the "the biggest newspaper..." who you left unnamed didn't include the some over 20 confirmations of blacks while senator, nor the fact that 54 others voted against Judge White. Get it right, and I'll even contribute some perspective on the attack forces at University of Connecticut. Hands down, they are corporatized. The only thing is, when you-all come down heavy attacking conservative big business as opposed to Democrat big business you miss the across party line bullshit that keeps the big guys up there with us down here fighting ourselves. Remember, multi-culturalism is another tool of the power brokers to keep all that passion and spirit divided to serve global and elite think identities--like professional public school bureaucrats.

Paul Norton, via e-mail

G.P. replies--Mea culpa. I caught the Bob Jones error in a later version of the article, but you are correct--the university did lift their ban on interracial dating about a year ago. That doesn't change the facts that a) they are still unapologetic racists, cloaking their bigotry in religion, and b) "conservative" politicians like Bush Jr. and Ashcroft know this perfectly well and know when they choose to appear at Bob Jones that it will appeal to the white bigot vote--which they hope to capture. And while I share your antipathy to "professional public school bureaucrats," multiculturalism is hardly some nefarious elite conspiracy. Quite the opposite--it's the effort by constituencies (i.e., The Majority, a.k.a. everyone other than middle-aged white males) to get their contributions to our society treated equally. This middle-aged white male completely supports it.
