Note To Readers
ETS! will be taking its usual summer hiatus, except that this year it'll be
four, rather than three, weeks, so that we can make up for having published
extra issues the last two years, improve our cash flow, and give our
selfless
volunteers an actual break. Our next issue is scheduled to appear July
30,
2003.
That cash flow is still dire--firstly, because response to our appeal last
issue was frankly lukewarm (thanks to those of you who did respond; and
many
more responded when we begged on our KEXP show last week!). Meantime, our
printer has changed its credit policy and now requires each issue to be
paid
upon printing, meaning our need for cash is greater than ever at exactly
the
time of year when our income usually slows. It took an emergency $500 short
term loan to even get this issue into print; next issue, if we're still
short, we won't print until we're not.
You know the drill: ETS! is free, but our major expenses -- printing,
postage, layout -- are not. You make it possible. If you've considered
supporting us, or just value what we do, now would be a really good time to
donate. Please help us survive. --the editors
