5:30-8:30 PM. A Community Anti-Racism Forum: The Way Home, a video
presentation sponsored by The Fremont Public Association (FPA). The Way
Home shows what happened when eight ethnic councils of women came together
to talk honestly about race, gender and class in the US. Over the course of
8 months, 64 women, representing a cross-section of cultures in the US, met
in councils separated by ethnicity. The result is an unpredictable
collection of stories that reveal the far-reaching effects of social
oppression and present an inspiring picture of women moving beyond the

1-4 PM. Self-Sufficiency, Simplicity, And Sustainability: A Dialogue
with Dr. Sheshrao Chavan Dr. Chavan works to apply the teachings of
Mahatma Gandhi to our current world situation, promoting self-sufficiency,
non-violence, and global democracy. He is Chairman of the Bharatiya Vidya
Bhavans Aurangabad Kendra, under which a Community College, Center for
Environmental Education and Research, and Center for Naturopathy and Nature
Cure have been set up in Aurangabad, India. This is an opportunity to have
an informal, unstructured dialogue with Dr. Chavan and other organizers,
activists, business people and educators involved in developing a new
