Although our fundraising crockpot didn't quite fill to the brim, we got enough reader support to make a huge difference, helping pay off almost all our debt and stockpile some staple items for the near future.

It was gratifying to see the reader support pour in. We put out the call and over 60 readers responded with a total of $5,262 in donations and subscriptions. A few large donations in the final weeks helped immensely. We owe some people a dinner (both literally and figuratively).

Thanks to everyone who brought so much to the potluck. Now we'll can the munchable metaphors for awhile and get back to our regularly scheduled food for th... er, journalism.
