JULY 16-AUG 7. Hiroshima- Nagasaki to Hope Peace Walk Walk for world peace from the Hanford Nuclear Reservation to Bangor. All are welcome to participate for any part of the 300 mile walk or for the whole distance. The Hanford Nuclear Reservation is where plutonium was manufactured for the Nagasaki atomic bomb, and where Yakima Natives and neighbors are still affected from the nuclear waste site with radiation sickness. The Trident submarine base at Bangor is about 15 miles west of Seattle and is the largest active nuclear weapons depot in the world. This commemoration is a theatrical presentation that honors the millions of Africans who were captured, enslaved and lost during this centuries-long tragedy, by telling their stories.
