From the Kitchen: 2006 is Eat the State!'s 10th anniversary, and in coming months we'll be celebrating with some public events. Coming up: the first of them, on Sunday evening, April 30, with Alternative Radio founder and noted author and analyst David Barsamian coming to town to promote (yet another) new book and mark AR's 20th (!) anniversary. While here, David--an ETS! fan since our inception--has generously offered to do a benefit for us! How could we refuse? Join David and ETS! Sunday evening, April 30, 6:30 PM, at University Baptist Church's social hall, for a discussion of Imperialism, Media, and Propaganda. Since it is a fundraiser, the suggested donation is $5-10 (sliding scale), but if you can give more, please consider doing so. In ten years, printing ETS! has always been, and remains, a financially precarious proposition, and we rely on readers' generous support to keep going. Come join us on the 30th!

Another kitchen note: ETS! columns editor Eileen Heimer has had to step down due to lack of reliable access to the Internet. Thank you, Eileen, for pitching in and helping out!
