Fund Appeal From The Kitchen
by The ETS! kitchen crew
It seems like everyone's been doing their fundraising drives lately. It comes with the territory of being community-supported media. But here at Eat the State!, our fundraising goals are relatively modest. We don't need to raise $6,000 before the "top of the hour," just $6,000 within the next few weeks. Not too much to ask, right? Our loyal supporters have helped us reach our goals in the past--we're counting on you again. And if you're an ETS! reader who has not donated or subscribed in the past, we're especially asking you to consider helping us out this time. If you pick up the paper for free, consider subscribing; if you already subscribe, consider giving a gift subscription, or making an additional donation. Every bit of help is greatly appreciated by the volunteer kitchen crew here at ETS!.
In case supporting critical independent journalism isn't incentive enough, we've also got premiums to offer for substantial donations. Any donation of $50 or more enables you to choose any one of three premiums we offer:
* Paul Loeb's inspiring anthology, The Impossible Will Take a Little While;
* an audio CD of the talk given by David Barsamian in Seattle last spring; or
* an Eat the State! t-shirt.
Any donation of $100 or more allows you to choose two premiums. Just include a note with your donation indicating which premium(s) you choose. If you want a t-shirt, please specify color and size (see p. 8).
You can mail donations to our PO box or donate via Paypal on our Web site, eatthestate.org.
Also, we'd like to invite ETS! supporters to come out and help us celebrate our first decade of publishing as we enter into our second decade. The Asteroid restaurant in Fremont will host an informal gathering on Sunday, November 12, from 4 pm to 6pm, where you can mix and mingle with the folks that make ETS! happen (see p. 8). Come join us!
