through August 4. Canoe Journey. Hosted by the Lummi Nation. Thousands of people from tribes throughout the Pacific NW and BC, and non-Indian visitors, will attend this event, including 70 canoes traveling from their home site to the Lummi Nation. All day. Peace Fleet: Meet the US Navy fleet at Seafair in Elliott Bay. Activists are also encouraged to meet on land on the Seattle waterfront near Pier 66 at the same time for a nonviolent demonstration against weapons of war. through Aug 6. The Ground Zero Center for Nonviolent Action 30th Anniversary Celebration. Events begin on Saturday at 2 PM at Ground Zero, 16159 Clear Creek Rd., Poulsbo. Events include: welcoming Peace Walkers from Eugene, recalling 30 years of resistance to Bangor's Trident nuclear submarines; planning for the future, and breaking ground for the new Ground Zero house. Gather at 7:30 PM Saturday at the Kitsap Unitarian Universalist Fellowship, 4418 Perry Ave, Bremerton, for a concert featuring folk singers Linda Allen and Tom Rawson. Sunday begins at 8:30 AM with a pilgrimage from Bangor's train gate, past three auto gates, to the truck gate. The afternoon and evening will be devoted to nonviolence training, vigiling, and planning for direct action at the Trident Submarine Base, which will take place early Monday morning, Hiroshima Day. Special guests include Masahiro Sasaki, the eldest living brother of Sadako Sasaki, made famous by "Sadako and the 1,000 Cranes." Lantern ceremony and launching at dusk.
