From The Kitchen
by The eds.
A few quick kitchen notes: after nearly a decade of stellar service, Peter Sutherland is stepping aside as our ETS! webmaster, for the eminently selfish reason that he and his partner are expecting their first child shortly. (Oh...congratulations!) Peter will be hard to replace--but you can do it, if you have basic web skills, a bit of time every other week to post each issue, and some interest in helping upgrade our site for a long-overdue redesign. Contact us at info@eatthestate.org for more info.
While on the subject of surreal dedication, Lance Scott has laid out all but two of ETS!'s 300+ issues over the last 11 years, a phenomenal record that can't last forever. Lance needs a backup layout person for those issues when he might be sick, out of town, or just tired of trying to draw crockpots. If you're interested, he's at lanscot@drizzle.com.
Plus, we're going through our annual summer slump in volunteer distributors. We especially need reliable distributors for Ballard, Fremont, and parts of Capitol Hill. Once again: info@eatthestate.org.
Speaking of summer slumps, as part of our long-standing campaign to emulate Congress and the White House, we're taking the rest of August off. We're skipping a week so as to enjoy summer and avoid production over Labor Day; our next issue will be out August 30, after which we'll be back on our regular biweekly schedule with our Sept. 13 anniversary issue. Enjoy summer!
