From The Holiday Kitchen
by the eds.
Okay, here's the deal. We're broke. Broker than usual, even. And while our ever-indulgent printer (who is, as always, ETS!'s primary creditor) has been very patient, the main reason we hold fund drives (such as the one we just started last issue) is so that said printer won't cut us off. Which requires us paying them. Which, in turn, requires us having money.
Which is why we ask for it from you, our faithful (and often very enthusiastic) readers.
There are, of course, lots of ways to support ETS!; plenty of folks donate their time, for example, as writers or distributors or any of the many other tasks needed to put out a publication with no paid staff. (And we can always use more of you folks, too! Ask us how.) But in the financial realm, there's still plenty of ways to help. If you have a local business or an event coming up, consider advertising, or if you don't, put an ad in our Mini-Mart or Activist Directory.
But especially, this is the time of year for giving. This holiday season, if you don't want to see another of your neckties or Authentic Hand-Woven Crafts showing up in Value Village in three months, consider instead a gift of one (or more) of those boffo Eat the State! t-shirts (only $15 each), or a gift subscription ($24 per person for one year, $39 for two years) for a friend, loved one, or you.
Or, just send us a donation, of any size. For larger year-end sums, ask about tax-deductible donations (we have an umbrella group.) But every little bit helps. Send your check or money order to PO Box 85541, Seattle WA 98145 USA, or you can donate via Paypal at our website: http://eatthestate.org/stock/donate.htm.
We're looking forward to serving Seattle (and the world) in 2008 and beyond. But first, we have to pay the printer. Help us out!
